Bethany Best & Associates provide music therapy services to people across Brisbane, Moreton Bay and regions. We specialise in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) which is specifically designed for people of all ages affected by cognitive, sensory or motor dysfunctions.

We are qualified and University trained in scientifically validated and clinically tested techniques, benefiting those affected by Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Stroke and other neurological conditions affecting cognition, movement and function, such as Autism and Muscular Dystrophy.

We have extensive experience working with people who have a brain injury and other neurological conditions within rehabilitation and community settings.

Our therapy service includes individualised assessments, measures and programs that identify key therapy targets/areas to be addressed, establishing a clear therapeutic pathway towards achieving long term goals. We use a variety of music and non-music interventions and techniques to facilitate improved health and well being of all our clients.

We enjoy working in collaboration with clients, parents, caregivers interdisciplinary therapists and medical personnel to provide holistic care to our clients. Our desire is to empower our clients to reach attainable outcomes while working toward long term goals.

Bethany Best

NMT (Fellow), MMusThy, BMusSt (Hons), B.Arts

Bethany is a Registered Music Therapist (RMT) and a passionate person with a desire to serve and empower people in their health and well being through music.

Bethany specialises in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) and has several years experience providing therapy within private practice as well as in a sub-acute and acute acquired brain injury (ABI) rehabilitation hospitals and centres across Brisbane.

Bethany has a variety of experiences and qualifications that include undergraduate and graduate degrees in Music research and Music Therapy. In addition Bethany has completed specialised training in Neuro-anatomy, Respiratory Techniques and several music and non-music diagnostic and assessment tools. Bethany is excited to use her knowledge and skills to serve people of all ages and function in the best way possible.

Heidi Vandersee

Heidi is a Registered Music Therapist (RMT), having completed her Masters in Music Therapy through the University of Melbourne in 2016. Prior to this, Heidi gained her undergraduate degree at the University of Queensland, during which she undertook study in the fields of music and psychology.

Through her clinical training, Heidi has experience delivering music therapy programs within a variety of school and healthcare settings, but particularly enjoys the diversity of private practice.

Heidi is passionate about collaborating with people from all walks of life, and is excited to use music to support others to meet their individual health and wellbeing goals.
